Grounding Skills for Nervous System Regulation

Saturday, 6/6/26 from 9am-12pm

Gather Wellness Center in Lyman, ME

This three-hour experiential workshop is a deep dive into the art of grounding as a primary tool for nervous system regulation. Through a blend of gentle movement, breathwork, and guided meditation, you will learn how to anchor yourself when our minds get lost in the past or the future. We will explore the mechanics of the autonomic nervous system—specifically how to use the physical environment and your own body to navigate the five primary defensive states (fight, flight, freeze, fawn, and flop). By shifting your focus from mental loops to the "here and now," you will learn to catch the earliest signals of dysregulation and steer yourself back to balance.

In this session, you will gain:

  • A Physical Anchor for Stress: Learn to use the ground beneath you and your own "felt sense" to break the cycle of anxious overthinking.

  • Trauma-Informed Grounding Tools: Build a versatile toolkit of sensory practices to stabilize your nervous system in real-time.

  • The Power of Presence: Develop the ability to exit the past or future and reside in the safety and calm of the present moment.

Cost: $75

Bridging the Mind Body Connection

Saturday, 8/08/26 from 9am-12pm

Gather Wellness Center in Lyman, ME

How well do you "hear" your body? These days, most of us live from the neck up feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from our bodies. In this three-hour workshop, you'll gain an accessible understanding of the neurobiology behind your nervous system and discover practical, body-based tools to support regulation, resilience, and presence.

Drawing from somatic and mindfulness traditions, we'll focus on the “felt sense” and develop interoceptive awareness or the ability to notice, name, and respond to the signals your body is always sending. In this workshop, you will gain:

  • A trauma-informed and connection-oriented experience with a group of other presence-seeking people.

  • A deeper understanding and accessible map of your nervous system with specific tools and practices to practice at home.

  • A full somatic movement practice that includes vagal toning, yoga, breath, and meditation.

  • A printed workbook with neurobiology, practices, and guided reflections to take with you.

Cost: $75
