Somatic Therapy Sessions
Where Mind & Body Meet ~
Therapy for Deep, Lasting Change
If you've ever felt like talk therapy only scratches the surface—or if you struggle to put your experiences into words—somatic therapy offers another way in. It’s a gentle, body-based approach to emotional healing that honors the truth that our bodies hold what our minds can't always express. Whether you're carrying stress, trauma, or the weight of painful life changes, somatic therapy helps you reconnect with yourself in a safe and supportive way. Together, we listen to what your body is saying through sensation, breath, and subtle movement—allowing space for release, regulation, and deep inner healing. This work is not about “fixing” you. It’s about creating space to slow down, come home to yourself, and feel supported exactly as you are—while gently shifting what no longer serves you.
“The moment in between what you once were, and who you are now becoming, is where the dance of life really takes place.”
― Barbara De Angelis

My Mind-Body Approach
So many of us have learned that there are parts of ourselves and our experience that are overwhelming, intolerable or unloveable. We learn to survive by disconnecting. We heal by reconnecting. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of this work. It’s crucial to me that clients’ feel seen, heard, and safe to be vulnerable. From there, my approach always comes down to the mind body connection. I’ve learned that there are four main pathways that tend to work best for clients.
Some clients come to therapy during times of major life transition — seeking a space to slow down, reflect, and process from a holistic perspective that honors the mind, body, heart, and spirit. I support clients in exploring these changes with mindfulness, emotional presence, and body-based therapeutic tools that help access deeper layers of healing. Often, a spiritual perspective is helpful in making new meaning, finding direction, and reconnecting with a sense of purpose.
Holistic Counseling
Some clients already have a talk therapist and are looking for a separate space to practice somatic skills. Others may not be verbal processors at all and need help to deepen their mind-body connection. They may feel stressed, burnt out, overwhelmed, disconnected, or numb, and need support in exploring, understanding, and shifting the body. Somatic coaching offers a more targeted, experiential approach to working with the nervous system. Rather than focusing on the story, I use body-based practices to help you notice patterns, build regulation, and reconnect with your internal resources.
Somatic Coaching
Trauma Therapy
Some clients have found talk therapy helpful, yet still feel stuck in patterns rooted in past trauma. These patterns can continue to show up in the form of anxiety, emotional reactivity, relationship challenges, or a lingering sense of unease — even after years of insight. I integrate Somatic Experiencing, attachment-focused EMDR, and parts work to support deep healing. This approach helps reprocess painful experiences stored in the body, so you're less triggered in the present and so a new, more embodied narrative can emerge.
Ecotherapy
Some clients are looking for something different. They may be asking the big existential questions - Why am I here? What really matters? Where do I belong in all of this? Outdoor ecotherapy happens not just in words, but in walking, sitting, breathing — with the trees, the sky, the changing light. Together, we’ll explore what it means to be human in a world that often doesn’t make sense, and see what begins to unfold when we reconnect with the natural world — and with ourselves.
How it works…
Consultation
I offer a free 15 minute video consultation where you can discuss what you would like to work on and what you’re looking for in a therapist. I share about myself, my approach and how we might proceed. If it feels like a good fit for you, we discuss logistics like insurance, scheduling, directions, and more.
Building Connection
It’s important to me that you feel a sense of connection with me as your therapist. It’s an embodied awareness that I see you, hear you, and understand you. It can take a few sessions for you to tell your story, build trust, and for us to make a plan on what to focus on and how to work together.
Embodied Change
I believe your body knows how to heal and adapt. No matter what we decide to focus on, I make it a point to reflect back to you what’s working so that you can watch yourself become more whole and centered in who you know yourself to be. I offer skills, tools, guidance and warmth but you are always in the driver’s seat.
